"While you were sleeping"

While most of us are winding down, turning off the lights and tucking into bed, the countryside is just beginning to stir. The latest collection of my original artwork, While You Were Sleeping, invites you to take a quiet step into that twilight world – one that's often hidden from view but full of quiet life and mystery.
From April 30th to June 11th, my new exhibition will be on show at Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre, Plough Hill Caistor, and it’s all about those animals who thrive between dusk and dawn. The watchers of the night. The fox slipping through fields, the owl scanning the ground from a silent perch, the badger on its well-worn path. These creatures live their lives just as vibrantly as we do – we just don’t often get the chance to see them.
This collection is a bit different – moodier, softer, more atmospheric. It’s about capturing those fleeting moments in the half-light. The hush between day and night. The gentle stillness that feels alive with unseen movement. It’s a reminder that the land doesn’t go to sleep when we do – it keeps breathing, rustling, prowling, watching.
Each painting is like a little window into that hidden world. If you’ve ever paused in the quiet of the evening and felt the presence of something unseen, you’ll know exactly the kind of feeling I’m trying to capture.
You can take a peek at the collection over on my website here, or come and see them in person during the exhibition – I’d love that.
Because even in the dark, the world is wide awake. And while you were sleeping… they were there, keeping watch.
As well as original art prints and other products will be on view available to purchase.
