Daybreak Sentinel
70cm x 100cm
With their tall, statuesque stance and calm patience, grey herons are a familiar and striking sight along our canals. Often spotted standing completely still, they’re waiting for just the right moment to snatch up their next meal. When they take to the skies, you’ll notice their long, thin legs trailing behind and their necks tucked back in that signature ‘S’ shape.
These elegant birds are large and long-legged, with soft grey backs and wings, and bright white underparts. Their heads are white too, topped with black, wispy crests, and their long, pointed yellow beaks add a touch of prehistoric charm.
